MINUTES OF THE EXTRAORDINARY VIRTUAL MEETING OF KIRTON PARISH COUNCIL HELD VIA ‘ZOOM’ ON THURSDAY 21st May 2020
Present: Councillors: Cllrs S Watson, P Watson (and Borough), C Brotherton, I Cole, L O’Connor.
Also Present: Cllr P Watson – Acting Clerk of the Council

1 resident attended but did not wish to comment.
61/20 Election of Chairperson
Cllr Brotherton nominated Cllr I Cole as Chair, Cllr P Watson Seconded. The council voted and Cllr Cole was unanimously voted as Chairperson.
It was agreed that there would be no Vice Chair elected as the council would all support each other working in that role.
Chairperson Cole thanked the council for their faith in him and for electing him.
62/20 The Council then went into Closed Session to Discuss Staffing Matters
As a result of discussions, the following matters were resolved.
It was agreed that the chair was to get advice regarding GDPR and councillors destroying documents and information prior to returning information to the council.
It was proposed by Cllr P Watson to contact LALC and organise a replacement Clerk while the existing Clerk is on sick leave. This was seconded by Cllr C Brotherton and unanimously voted upon.
It was proposed by Cllr L O’Connor and seconded by Cllr S Watson to pay the clerk her salary and expenses due as the previous meeting was not completed. This was voted upon unanimously.
It was proposed by Cllr P Watson and seconded by Cllr L O’Connor to organise a mobile phone for use by the clerk. Cllr S Watson will research phones and report back to the council. This was voted unanimously.
63/20 Date & Time of the next Meeting of the Parish Council
which will be held on Friday 29th of May via Zoom beginning at 7 pm. There being no further business to discuss, the Chairman thanked those in attendance and declared the meeting closed at 7:56pm.
