PLANNING APPLICATION B/22/0260
Kirton Parish Council will be holding an extraordinary Meeting on Wednesday 10th August at 2pm at the Town Hall to discuss planning application B/22/0260, travellers site South of Marsh Road, Kirton
Having spoken with the case officer, it is important the PC get their responses in but should be aware of, that whilst no decision has yet been made, The Environment Agency response.
We object to the proposed development as it falls within a flood risk vulnerability category that is inappropriate to the Flood Zone in which the application site is located.
Reasons The PPG classifies development types according to their vulnerability to flood risk and provides guidance on which developments are appropriate within each Flood Zone. This site lies within Flood Zone 3a, which is land defined by the PPG as having a high probability of flooding.
Overcoming our objection We are likely to maintain our objection based on the reasoning above and see no alternative in how the applicant can overcome our objection. Even raising the site by considerably would not mitigate against the fact the site would become isolated in severe flood events
With this knowledge there will be a public forum before the meeting should anyone wish to attend but the PC do not feel now the need for a public meeting in view of the number of comments received by Planning by residents of neighbouring properties and outside agencies regarding this application.
